What is Tai Chi – Tai Ji ?

Tai Chi is a Taoist art. Taking the external form of a martial art and producing a positive side effect of increased bodily health, its ultimate aim is the inner development of the individual.

The martial aspect of the art is only present to provide a playground where the different aspects of human beings – physical, emotional, and spiritual – can practice, learn, and develop. Winning or  losing is of no  importance here. Personal growth and pushing our inner limits are the only thing to overcome by ourselves and for ourselves. The essence of the teaching of Tai Chi is the expression of Taoism teaching.

The practice of Tai Chi is integrated one step after another in the daily of the practionner at his own pace, as the integration of Taoist principles deepens. The study and exploration of Tai Chi are considered like a very long journey whose goal is the journey in itself. An adventure within ourself.
